A great deal of interest has been expressed for a new recognition club, the Heritage Society, for donors who remember the university through a charitable bequest.
More and more friends and alumni of Clarion are finding that a bequest to us provides the means of accomplishing a gift objective that was not within reach during their life times. A bequest to the University Foundation in your will or trust provides the personal satisfaction of knowing that you will be benefiting Clarion University for many years.
A charitable bequest is not included when determining the value of an estate and thus may lower the federal tax liability. Through his or her will a donor has a number of options: a specific dollar amount of cash, securities or other property may be directed to support the university, or a residuary bequest may be made of all or a portion of an estate after payment of specific amounts to other beneficiaries.
To request more information about becoming a member of the Heritage Society please email or call the Foundation Office.
