The Connecticut Clearinghouse is the state's primer library resource center for information on substance abuse and mental health disorders, prevention and health promotion, treatment and recovery, wellness and other related topics. A program of Wheeler Clinic, Inc., the Clearinghouse is funded by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration ( SAMHSA) sharply focuses its vision on building resilience and facilitating recovery for people with - or at - risk for substance abuse disorders. SAMHSA is utilizing every last resource in its current endeavors. SAMHSA's National Mental Health Information Center: Center for Mental Services contains a plethora of resources such as hotlines tailored to individual needs, informational resources focused solely on the care of children, a Mental Health Dictionary, and A Mental Health Services Locator. Information Center staff members are skilled at listening and responding to questions from the public and professionals. The staff quickly directs callers to Federal, State, and local organizations dedicated to treating and preventing mental illness. The Information Center also has information on Federal grants, conferences, and other events.
