Creative industries

Artists, designers, all creators are natural entrepreneurs as they are not afraid to take risks, in fact taking risks is precisely what their work is about. Creative businesses are central to the future prosperity of the UK.

The British Council’s programme of activity gives greater opportunities to share the experience of the creative industries and swap skills with creative businesses which have a wealth of potential for economic growth. The Creative Industries programme supports artists and creative entrepreneurs to nurture and benefit from the economic impact of artistic exchange and innovation. Through it we promote and facilitate:

Creative networks between countries
Mapping of creative economies
Forum European Opportunity: Creative Industries for Regional Development
1 December 2005 Vilnius, Lithuania

Dialogues between policy makers, academics, artists and business people
Conference Creative Industries : An European Opportunity
27 - 28 October 2003 Vilnius, Lithuania
