INTERNATIONAL INSPIRATION

International Inspiration uses the power of sport to enrich the lives of millions of children and young people of all abilities, in schools and communities across the world, particularly in developing countries, through the power of high quality and inclusive physical education, sport and play.

Delivering the ambitions promised by the London bid team in Singapore, the programme aims to ‘reach young people all around the world and connect them to the inspirational power of the Games so they are inspired to choose sport.’ International Inspiration is governed by an independent charitable foundation.

The project is delivered by British Council, UK Sport and UNICEF, working closely with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), the UK Government, Youth Sport Trust, the Premier League, British Olympic Association, British Paralympic Association, individual donors and other partners.

Where is it taking place?

International Inspiration is already changing the lives of young people in 16 countries including Jordan.

Some of the Key results concluded that while attitudes to sport and play are generally positive and participation levels are reasonable both within and outside school, the survey has identified a number of issues that may have a negative effect on the development of sport and adolescents’ participation in sporting activities. around a half of all stakeholders feel that physical Education (PE) does not enjoy the same status in schools as other subjects and there is a tendency for PE classes to be given up for other subjects.
