IELTS takes place every month except July. You can take it in Prague or Brno. Check out the exam dates here.
Centres outside the Czech Republic have different exam dates and fees. Visit www.takeielts.org
For Czech residents we recognise the national ID [obcansky prukaz] or passport.
For non-Czech citizens your passport is required.
The candidate decides which module of the test he/she is going to sit taking into consideration the requirements given by the institution the candidate wishes to apply to.
Academic Module – usually taken when applying to college/university,
General Training Module – usually taken for secondary school requirements, immigration, or when applying for a job.
You will receive information about the test date, time and venue by e-mail approximately 10 days before the test date by email. The written parts of the IELTS test usually start at 9:00 a.m and last for about 3 hours (without a break).
The speaking module may be organised during a period of seven days before or after the written test. Usually it is organised on the day of the written test, however this depends on the number of candidates taking the test on a given date.
The candidate will not have extra time to fill in the answer sheet if he/she fails to do so within the time limit. Answers which are not transferred to the answer sheet will not be considered when marking the test.
The person supervising the test reminds the candidates to transfer the answers onto the separate answer sheet
Results (Test Report Form - TRF) are sent to the candidates and institutions listed on the Application Form on the 13th day following the test by registered post.
Candidates may also collect TRFs in person or through an authorised person providing they have notified the examination centre of this fact no later than 7 days after the written test.
Candidates may also check their results on-line (http://ielts-results.britishcouncil.org) on the 13th day following the test. In order to do so, they need to provide their candidate number, the number of the ID given in the Application Form, date of birth and the date the IELTS test was taken.
IELTS Candidate Identity Verification on test day
Do I still need to submit photos to register given that my photo will be taken on test day?
IELTS identity verification is an integral part of IELTS’ strategy of protecting the genuine candidate and providing security to receiving organisations. Refusal to comply with IELTS identity verification will prevent you from taking the test, and you will no be eligible for any transfer, cancellation or refund.
