We are the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations, and manage a wide range of activities covering the arts, science, and education.

Through our work we build and develop long-term relationships with governments, organisations, and people to provide mutual benefit and win recognition abroad for the UK’s values, ideas, and achievements. All jobs in the organisation contribute towards these aims.

Where are we?

• Worldwide, the British Council has offices in 233 towns and cities within 109 countries, run by approximately 5,500 staff.
• Over 150 staff and teachers are based in Vietnam at two locations.
  
  - Hanoi: 20 Thuy Khue Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi
  - Ho Chi Minh City: 25 Le Duan, District 1, HCMC.

What are the opportunities?

• Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)
• Project/event management and support roles
• Customer service roles
• Administration and clerical roles
• Other specialist roles, such as Marketing, Media Relations, or IT

As a new recruit from Vietnam you could be involved in:

• Planning and managing training awards or programmes
• Project development and management
• Arranging cultural events
• Managing the office, its staff, and finances
• Making visits and travelling locally and overseas to meet working partners and establish new clients and contacts

What skills and experience are we looking for?

The skills and experience required are specified for each post and you can find out what is required by reading the Job description/person specification.

For teaching jobs you will need a first degree, a recognised TEFL certificate, at least 2 years’ classroom teaching experience, and be familiar with contemporary UK. For guidance on recognised TEFL qualifications, please see our Minimum TEFL requirements page.
