Zoya Ionova is Finance and Resources Manager at the British Council, with more than four years of financial and project management experience. Prior to joining the British Council, she worked as the Regional Finance Officer at the Center for International Private Enterprise, overseeing the financial operations at the company’s field offices. Before that Zoya analyzed corporate governance issues in Russia and Eastern European markets for RiskMetrics Group. Zoya received a grant from the Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg of Robert Bosch Foundation for the development of educational project in Uzbekistan, and has led a team in a collaborative business research project on sustainable energy development for Russia and China.
A native Russian, born and raised in Uzbekistan, Zoya holds a bachelor’s degree in international economic relations from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Uzbekistan. She earned her master’s degree in international economics from the University of Sussex and MBA degree in business management from Virginia International University. She successfully passed a CFA level I exam and is currently pursuing CMA certification.
