SUBMARINE (2010, 97 min)

Premiere screening in Ukraine, this film is taking part in the festival competition programme! An impressive debut by the UK director Richard Ayoade prior known for his work on TV series: ‘Mighty Boosh’ and ‘The IT Crowd’.

Oliver Tate believes he is a literary genius. He fantasises about an outpouring of grief at his untimely death, when he is in fact unpopular. Two problems weigh heaviest on his mind – losing his virginity to his classmate Jordana, eczema-suffering pyromaniac who hates any place that could be termed romantic, and saving his parents’ marriage. Convinced that his mother is having an affair with old flame Graham, he embarks on a campaign to bring the family back together.

18 July 2011, 12:00 and 18:15 – 'Rodina' Cinema
19 July 2011, 19:30 – Odesa Film Studio
