Five leading curators presented on the subject of Art in Public Space on Friday 6th March 2009, Garaj Istanbul. The speakers were Andrea Schlieker, Curator, Folkestone Triennial (UK); Brigitte Franzen, Director, Ludwig Forum for International Art, Aachen (Germany); Mika Hannula, University of Gothenburg/ freelance curator (Sweden/ Finland); Sebastian Cichocki, Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw (Poland), and Silvia Eiblmayr, Co-curator Austrian Pavilion, Venice Biennale 2009 (Austria).

Panel on Art in Public Space

The curators were joined by Zerrin Iren Boynudelik,  Fine Arts Department, Yıldız University Istanbul (Turkey) who spoke about the role of public art in Turkey. This event is being run as part of My City, a European Commission and British Council project to be launched in April 2009 in Turkey and across Europe, in collaboration with Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Center and Anadolu Kultur and partners across Europe.
