June 2010: Important information about the Chevening Programme

In response to the Government's announcement of £6 billion cuts to UK public sector expenditure, the Foreign Office is conducting a thorough review of FCO programme spending. This includes the Chevening scholarships programme. The results should be agreed at the end of June or in early July. This means that we will not be able to confirm existing offers for scholarships until then. We do understand the frustration that this will cause but ask those affected to be patient and in the meantime keep in contact with the British Embassy or High Commission in your country. Updates will be posted here and on the Chevening Facebook page.

No decisions will be taken about the Chevening scholarships programme for 2011/12 and beyond until the Government's 2010 Spending Review as well as an ongoing review of Chevening are complete.
