Teachers´ International Professional Development Programme

Under the British Council's outlined strategic objective of Learning, the British Council in Trinidad and Tobago is committed to working on Education Reform and Youth Development. The Council is working in partnership with key stakeholders in Trinidad and Tobago to help achieve the present government's objective of achieving developed status for Trinidad and Tobago by 2020. The British Council is working under the collaboration and in close partnership with the Ministry of Education and the School of Education at the University of the West Indies.

In alignment with the above, we have hosted

• Leadership Workshop and Seminars between August 6th-12th 2003 wherein two educational specialists visited Trinidad and Tobago during 2002 and 2003.
• Teacher Training Symposium held in conjunction with the University of the West Indies' School of Education in April 2004.
• Leadership Training of District Supervisors from the Ministry of Education in August 2004 as a key function of their decentralisation exercise.
