Active Citizens

The British Council has been working in partnership with RAWAFED (The Syria Trust for Development) and SEBC to establish the Active Citizens Programme in Syria.

The Programme aims to 'build trust and understanding to support peaceful co-existence and sustainability'.

To achieve this we will work together locally and globally, to engage in dialogue and carry out positive social action. We will establish a network of globally engaged, locally connected Active Citizens who will promote and carry out dialogue and social action.

The Active Citizens programme follows a journey. this journey moves from personal to social and local to global helping us to recognize the connections and make a difference

Below is an overview of the Active Citizens modules which take us on this journey. The first three (and sometimes4)modules are usually delivered in one residential event.

Module1:Identity and culture

Module 2:Dialogue

Module 3:Local and Global citizenship

Module 4:Project Planning

Modules:5-8:Project deliver and global connections
