Grants Programme
UK and Sri Lankan Schools; Education Zones and Local Authorities jointly complete the grants application forms as a partnership but the UK School/ Local Authority is responsible for submitting the application form.
Reciprocal Visit grant (RV)
The Reciprocal Visit grant is for young partnerships that are laying the foundations for long term, collaborative work. This allows teachers to meet face-to-face to plan proposed joint curriculum projects with a global education theme.
During 2010 -2011, twenty one Sri Lankan and UK school partnerships have been awarded the Reciprocal Visit grant.
Global Curriculum Project grant (GCP)
Global Curriculum Project grants are for established partnerships where schools are working on joint activities with a global education theme. This allows teachers to meet face-to-face to review completed projects and plan future activities.
During 2010 -2011, eleven Sri Lankan and UK school partnerships were awarded the Global Curriculum Project grant.
Local Authority Grant (LAG)
The Local Authority Grant (LAG) is designed to create international relationships that can broker and support partnerships with a focus on global education between Local Authorities in UK and District Education Office (DEO) in the global South (e.g. Zonal Department of Education equivalent).
During 2010-2011 the following clusters have been developed and supported under the above scheme
