International Placement for Head Teachers (IPH)

Under the IPH programme a group of 10 UK Head Teachers (Principals) visited 5 Sri Lankan Schools to explore ‘measuring impact, evaluation and student leadership while also focusing on general leadership skills.

What is IPH?
The International Placement for Head Teachers programme is an initiative developed in partnership between the British Council and the National College for School Leadership in the UK. This programme provides opportunity for UK head teachers to visit overseas schools with a view to examine and reflect upon their leadership, values and practice of other Head Teachers worldwide

Why IPH visits add value for Sri Lankan Schools?
It’s an opportunity for the Sri Lankan School principals, sectional heads, teachers, prefects, class monitors and students to share best practice with UK head teachers. Furthermore by interacting with head teachers’ belonging to a different culture adds an international flavour to the school ethos.

UK Heads would be ambassadors to promote school partnership activities in Sri Lanka. This would promote more UK schools to form sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships.

How to get involved?
