CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCED ENGLISH
Cambridge English: Advanced, also known as
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is a high-level qualification that is officially recognised by universities, employers and governments around the world.
Cambridge English: Advanced is set at C1 level – the second highest on the CEFR scale. C1 is the level of English required for demanding academic and professional settings. It shows that you are highly proficient in English.

CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH
Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) is Cambridge ESOL's most advanced exam. It is aimed at people who use English for professional or study purposes.
CPE is at Level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) — an internationally recognised benchmark of language ability. The framework uses six levels to describe language ability from A1 to C2. 'Can Do' statements have been used to describe these levels in terms of real skills with language.

HOW CAN I REGISTER?
collect an application form from the British Council, or download the appropriate application:
- application form for paper-based exams
- application form for computer-based exams
download the Information Sheet for Candidates for reference
- paper-based exam
- computer-based exam
register by submitting the completed entry form in person or post during the period of registration for a given session. Please submit the following along with the entry form:
- a photocopy of yourpassport/national identity card/postal identity card
- two recent passport-size photographs
- 3 self addressed envelopes.
fees can be paid in cash, by cheque or bank draft (SL Rupees) drawn in favour of 'British Council'. You can also make a bank transfer to the following account (please bring or post the receipt with your application):

WHEN AND HOW DO I GET MY RESULTS AND THE CERTIFICATE?
Results are issued approximately two to three months after the date of the written exams and the results sheets will be sent via post to the candidates
Certificates for successful candidates approximately one month after results are issued. Candidates will be informed in writing for the collection of certificates.
The final grade is an aggregate of the marks achieved in each of the three papers: Reading and Writing, Listening, Speaking. There is no minimum pass mark for each individual paper.

CANDIDATES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
In co-operation with Cambridge ESOL, we provide a Special Arrangements Service for candidates with hearing, speech, visual and kinetic difficulties, as well as for candidates with learning difficulties such as dyslexia. We also make special arrangements for candidates who have sustained accident-related injuries, such as a broken arm, prior to the day of the exam. Download our

REFUND POLICY
Refunds are only granted under medical grounds. Requests must be made within
seven days after the scheduled test date. Following documents are to be submitted for the processing of the refund
Completed Local Refund Claim Form
A Medical Certificate from recognised western medical practitioner or a hospital
Statement of Entry
Receipt issued by British Council for the examination fees paid
Please note that photocopies of the above documentation will not be accepted. British Council will retain Rs. 3,000/- from the total examination fee paid as an administration fee. Transfer of fees to a future examination session is not allowed.

ACCEPTANCE OF CAE SCORES FOR STUDENT VISA PURPOSES
Australian Government’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) now accepts Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) scores for student visa purposes. DIAC will accept scores of 32 and higher for CAE exams taken up to two years before the candidate’s application. Find out more
