British Council Sri Lanka

10:10 Campaign

WHO IS SIGNED UP TO THE 10:10 CAMPAIGN?
Sri Lanka is among the 35 British Council offices worldwide who have signed up to the 10:10 campaign. The other offices are Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Cyprus, Georgia, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Azerbaijan, Cuba, Germany, Norway, Lebanon, Brazil, Finland, Denmark, Philippines, Greece, Korea, Thailand, Australia, Portugal, Kuwait, Ethiopia, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Taiwan, Colombia, Chongqing, UK and Switzerland.

Everyone is looking for something to do about climate change. What is needed is something straightforward, immediate and meaningful. This could be the 10:10 campaign.

Our CEO Martin Davidson has committed the British Council in the UK to join thousands of individuals and organisations from across the country to unite behind one simple idea: that by working together we can achieve as much as a 10% cut in carbon emissions during 2010. It is called 10:10.

Cutting 10% in one year is a bold target, but for most of us it’s an achievable one, and is in line with what scientists say we need right now. Any reduction, from 3% upwards, is worth celebrating!
