British Council Slovenia
We create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide. We call this cultural relations.
In Slovenia cultural relations supports, develops and enhances the relationship between the UK and Slovenia at government, institutional and people-to-people level. We try to build mutually beneficial relationships between people in the UK and Slovenia. We try to give this market what it wants most from us: access to the UK’s art and culture, our society and ideas.
Our work includes promoting British education and training; demonstrating and re-affirming the innovation, creativity and excellence of British arts and creative industries; and offering exams such us IELTS, Cambridge ESOL and many others.
We are nurturing and focusing on the new emerging generation of leaders in the creative, cultural and educational sector by connecting them to UK knowledge and expertise.
Partnership is central to our work. Our partnerships with state, the private sector and NGOs will help us to reach audiences in the UK and Slovenia. We will make a difference by developing partnerships together and not alone. Our work is driven by our strong belief in internationalism, valuing people, a commitment to professionalism and an enthusiasm for creativity. We hold ourselves to the highest possible standards of integrity. We believe that cultural relations can help individuals and the world community to thrive. (for DAF purposes)
We are a small operation with 1 UK Appointed Director and 5 locally -appointed, full time staff and we run an examinations business. We have been in Ljubljana since 1992.
