Opportunity for young teachers to spend a year in the U.K. as assistant teachers, during the academic year 2012-2013.
Applications were welcomed from teachers or university students training to be teachers who are nearing the end of their course to spend one year only on a Training and Work Experience Scheme as Assistant Teachers in a British Independent School.
Objectives: To provide teachers with the opportunity to gain experience of the British educational system, to understand something of the British way of life and to gain a greater command of English.
Teachers of the following subjects were most easily placed: Mathematics, Sciences, Information Technology, Design and Technology, Art, Music, Physical Education and Sport, Junior Classes. There were occasionally vacancies for teachers of French, German, Spanish, History, Geography, and English as a Second or Foreign Language.
Most vacancies were for secondary teachers (pupils aged 11-18) but some vacancies did exist also for teaching younger pupils (aged 7-13 and occasionally for kindergarten).

Essential qualities include:
having a good knowledge of English: ability to communicate easily (in order to sustain a conversation on very familiar subjects) but total fluency is not essential provided there is a willingness to learn quicklyAPPLICATION PROCEDURE
The registration period ended on 5 December 2011. Thank you for submitting your applications. All the candidates selected to continue the selection procedure were contacted by one of our representatives.

The documents could have been sent by mail only, stapled together in the order mentioned above, mentioning "HMC Project". All the documents have been written in English. The diploma did not have to be translated and the documents did not need to be legalised at Notariat.

Interviews for shortlisted candidates have been arranged by the coordinator in each country.
Successful candidates: Successful candidates will be invited to attend an orientation course at Fitzwilliam College in Cambridge from 31 August - 3 September 2012 for all teachers and scholars from Central and Eastern Europe.
This is a British Council Project. The preservation of the current teaching position for the selected teachers will be done under the provisions of the Romanian National Education Act and it the teachers' full responsibility to fulfill any duty related to it.
