Registration methods:

If you pay the test fee via bank transfer or in cash at our office, you will receive our bank details and further instructions in the IELTS application summary email at the end of your online application process.
In addition you need to send by courier/post the IELTS application summary sheet, two recent colour photographs (without glasses), a clearly legible copy of your valid ID and the proof of payment (only if you paid the test fee via a bank transfer) to the British Council Romania.
The required documentation should reach us no later than 3 days after registering online for the test. The photographs should bear your full name, as well as the test date and the module you wish to register for.
Online registration will be open starting with the first day of the registration period.
The confirmation letter and details about the exam will be sent by e-mail, therefore it is essential for you to give these details in the application form.

Application form
There is an application form, in Adobe® Acrobat®'s Portable Document Format (PDF). To view and print the document you need to use a PDF file viewer such as Adobe® Acrobat® Reader®, now available at no charge from Adobe Systems web site.

Confirmation of registration
After registration you will receive an e-mail confirming the date and the module you have registered for. In order to receive this information in due time, it is essential that all contact details in the Application Form, including the e-mail address, are completed.
Test Day photo
All candidates who register for IELTS will have their photograph taken in the morning of the written test. This photograph will be printed onto the candidate’s Test Report Form. This project is dedicated to protect the genuine candidate, whilst at the same time ensuring the highest standard of customer care and validity of test scores.
This additional security arrangement will provide additional protection for genuine candidates against fraudsters and those who try to exploit test takers. They also provide receiving organisation the additional reassurance that the person whose photograph appears on the Test Report Form is the person who took the test.

How can I postpone/cancel the test and when am I reimbursed?
Cancellation
For cancellation requests received more than five weeks before the test date, we will refund the test fee, minus an administrative charge of £25. To cancel your test date, please complete our Transfer/Cancellation Form and e-mail it to ielts@britishcouncil.ro
Transfer
One change of test date is possible and free of charge if the request is received more than five weeks before the exam. In order for the transfer to be approved please fill in this form Transfer/Cancellation Form and email it to ielts@britishcouncil.ro by the stated deadline.
Special circumstances regarding cancellation and transfer
If you cannot sit the test and wish to CANCEL the registration or TRANSFER to another test date, later than five weeks before the chosen test date, the examination centre may approve your request if one of the following special circumstances is applicable: serious illness, loss or bereavement - death of a close family member, hardship/trauma – victim of crime, victim of a traffic accident or military service.
Should you find yourself in any of these situations, the following documents should be sent to the British Council Bucharest no later than five working days after the test date:
1. The original medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner/ proof of the exceptional situation.
2. Our document IELTS Transfer-Cancellation Form filled in and signed by the candidate.
Please note that only one transfer to a new test date may be approved. Candidates whose transfer is confirmed and who choose not to sit the test, cannot ask for another transfer or cancellation even if they are in one of the special circumstances above.
