The Largest Ever Study into the Rights of
Europe’s Legal Immigrants
The MIPEX project was commissioned to improve migrant integration policies in Europe by providing objective, accessible and comparable data for scrutiny and debate. The index is an exciting new tool which measures policies to integrate migrants in 25 EU Member States and 3 non EU countries. The MIPEX uses 140 policy indicators and covers six policy areas which shape a migrant’s journey to full citizenship: long term residence, labour market status, family reunion, political participation, access to nationality and anti-discrimination.

In partnership with FORUM, the British Council Netherlands was delighted to host an ‘expert meeting’ on the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) in the Netherlands on 22 November 2007, at Huize Molenaar in Utrecht.
This meeting was to promote debate on the findings of the MIPEX project, and wider issues surrounding migrant integration policy. It was part of a series of presentations, publication launches and open discussions, which promotes the Migrant Integration Policy Index throughout the European Union.
Respected authorities in the field were invited to attend the expert meeting in The Netherlands, where participants focussed on three key areas.
