English through drama

The English Through Drama course is a new type of course for the British Council, which follows on from the success of the Drama for Teachers courses that were run from 2007-2010.

This new course is for all adult students, at all levels.

The aim of the course is help students build up their vocabulary and practise grammar though the medium of drama. It is primarily a speaking course, but there will also be a chance to develop writing skills. By drama, we mean short sketches, improvisations and role plays and we will use scripted plays and try and write our own sketches.

We hope that these courses will not only improve your ability to speak English, but your general confidence in the language.

At the end of each lesson, there will be a grammar round –up and a focus on new vocabulary. There is no need to be an extrovert to do the course. We just ask that you have a belief that drama can help you and your English!
