The Selector is the international radio showcase produced by The British Council for the best new music from the UK through different radio stations around the world. The weekly two-hour programme covers all styles of contemporary music - you’ll hear indie, grime, dubstep, folk, soul, electro and everything else in between. Each show also features artist interviews and exclusive studio sessions from some of the most exciting artists in the UK.
Started by the British Council in 2001, the Selector reflects the richness and diversity of British music today. We aim to expose an international audience to new sounds and talents from the UK.
The show is presented by Goldierocks and we currently broadcast in around 12 countries to an audience of over 1 million every week.
Selector Radio has just announced a link up with NME radio. The NME (New Musical Express) is one of the most famous music magazines in the world and has been published since 1952. It was the first British paper to include a singles chart and has been associated with the rise of pretty much every popular music scene in the UK.

In 2005 it won the gold award at the prestigious Sony Radio Academy Awards for the best specialist weekly music programme, a prize for which the show was first nominated in only its second year.
