Against a video wall of screen-gazing individuals, six cyber souls stylishly nail the language of life online in their quest for romance. Talking and dancing at speed, they tackle the baffling etiquette of electronic discourse, make hilarious straight-to-the audience confessions, and dance the physical equivalent of poking and tweeting.

LOL (lots of love) will be presented in the region on:

18 and 19 February in Tunisia at Mad’Art Carthage, Carthage Dermech
23 and 24 February in Egypt (location tbc)
6 and 7 March in Morocco (location tbc)
11 March in Palestine at Al-Kasaba Theatre and Cinematheque, Ramallah

The tour will include performances of LOL, post show discussions and talks inspired by the content and artistic process of the work as well as workshops in collaboration with theatre professionals and artists from the Middle East and North Africa region.

LOL tour in the Arab World is a recommendation made by Arab theatre professionals, artists, promoters and advisors following their participation in Edinburgh International and Fringe festivals in the UK this year, organised by the British Council in August 2011.

LOL regional tour and associated activities are part of the British Council’s New Work New Audiences arts project which allows audiences in the region and the UK to experience the power of Arts in developing cultural understanding, trust and dialogue.
