The project (2006-2008) was initiated to continue the inclusive education work that we have carried out over last years. It was implemented in cooperation with the Education Development Centre and the Agency for Quality Assessment of General Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia. Project Consultant was UK ekspert Maggie Balshaw.
The aim of the project was to embody the values of inclusive society in Latvian schools, to diminish discrimination and intolerance as well as to promote the collaboration and understanding between different social groups in Latvia’s institutions of education and in the society.
To secure long-term support for inclusive education in Latvian schools the Index for Inclusion developed by the Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education (UK) was piloted and approbated in 23 Latvian schools. The final adapted version of Index for use in Latvia can be found here.
We would like to express gratitude to the whole project team (see below) for the hard work put into the project.
