Who we are

JSDP is a Sierra Leonean led and managed programme, under the overall direction of the Leadership Group which is assisted by the Technical Working Group.

The Technical Working Group (TWG) is supported by various Target Task Forces. A Target Task Force is a sub-Committee of the TWG comprising representatives from each sector institution involved in addressing a specific target.

Leadership group

The Justice Sector Leadership Group will be headed by the Honourable Vice President and is under Cabinet with prime responsibility of delivering the goals of the strategy, ensuring that targets are met, providing political accountability, high level policy guidance and coordination.

Technical Working Group

Vote Controllers of Justice Sector institutions-the-Ministries of Justice, Internal Affairs, Social Welfare, Local Government including the Judiciary , Police , Prisons , Law Reform Commission, Justice & Legal Services Commission.

The TWG had responsibility for developing the Strategy, and will once implementation begins, be responsible for driving implementation forward, dealing with day to day policy and implementation issues, and ensuring co-ordination of institution’s planning and budgeting processes, within the MTEF framework.

The TWG is chaired by Justice Adeliza Showers.

Justice Sector Coordination Office

Justice Sector Coordination Office has been created within the Ministry of Justice with Olayinka Creighton-Randall as coordinator.

The coordination office is responsible for coordinating sectoral policy, planning, budgeting and operationalisation of the Strategy. The major function is coordination of implementation and M & E of the Justice Sector Investment Strategy and Investment Plan 2008-2010.
