The YL Extension to CELTA course is primarily aimed at teachers who have gained the Cambridge/RSA CELTA, CTEFLA or Prep. Certificate and who wish to take an 'extension course' in teaching young learners. Successful candidates receive an endorsement to their Certificate. The British Council also accepts suitable candidates without the above qualifications onto the course (these candidates will receive a British Council certificate rather than a Cambridge ESOL endorsement)
What will the YL CELTA Extension course programme cover?
YL CELTA Extension Certificate courses are designed by individual centres using the syllabus and course objectives. To meet the course requirements candidates are required to attend the whole course and to:
teach classes of the relevant age group and size, for a total of 4 hours,Specifically, the course programme is designed to enable candidates to:
transfer and apply their awareness of language and knowledge of the description of English from an adult to a young learner context,For further information, visit the Cambridge EFL website.
