WHAT IS ITPSSM?

Integrated Training for Peace Support and Security Management (ITPSSM) is an initiative of the British Council Peacekeeping English Project. The entry level is lower-intermediate English (B1) / Stanag 2. Each event is set for up to 32 officers: host country (up to 15) and international (up to 17).

WHY?

ITPSSM:

WHO BY?

ITPSSM is conducted by a team of highly experienced and British Council trained international English language trainers, all of whom are also military, police or border guard staff with full professional knowledge of the language needs of European defence and / or interior ministry forces. In each event, the team consists of up to 12 teachers of whom up to 50% are from the host country.

HOW?

65 hours of integrated English language instruction over 6 study days, which

incorporates up to 45 hrs of classroom instruction and self-access study, and 15 hrs of social English practice;
is needs based as result of a thorough participants’ needs analysis;
consists of core thematic modules of key professional concern to uniformed services.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the event these senior and middle managers will have:
