This test is designed to assess the English language ability of people who need to study or work where English is used as the language of communication.
It is recognised widely as an English language requirement for courses in further and higher education, and is also used for immigration purposes.
What does the IELTS test consist of?
The test has two modules: Academic and General Training. Before registering check which one you need. All candidates are tested in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
When and where can I take the test?
We schedule test once a month, at our office. Exact dates can be found at Registration and Fees link. Test Report Forms are issued two weeks after the date of the exam. Please bring your ID or passport to collect your TRF. You can also check your IELTS results on-line.
How can I prepare for IELTS?
You can purchase Official IELTS Practice Materials from the British Council Office. The materials consist of a book and CD. Price of the pack is 25 AZN. Payment should be done through the bank transfer. Please send email about your query to ielts@britishcouncil.az.
Candidates registered online get FREE access to Road to IELTS preparation materials. Please input your email address and IELTS reference number to receive your individual practice materials. Important Note: You may not have an access to Road to IELTS if you do not have confirmed registration to IELTS test session.
How long is a test score valid?
As a general rule it is recommended that a Test Report Form that is more than two years old should only be accepted as evidence of present level of ability if accompanied by proof that a candidate has actively maintained or tried to improve their English language proficiency.
