What we do

Home > Science and environment > What we do

We work in the areas of science and the environment. In science, we work with partners to build lasting relationships between scientists and researchers around the world and support scientific collaboration through the exchange of ideas and knowledge. We also aim to build bridges between scientists and the public by providing opportunities to talk about science and its impact on society. In environment, we work with passionate, committed individuals to work together across the globe to develop ideas that can help tackle climate change.

WHAT WE DO

(c) The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures 2011 - Size Matters
This year's series will be given by Dr Mark Miodownik, a materials scientist from King's College London, who will explore the extraordinary world of size and scale in the two part lecture series called 'Size Matters'.

We support passionate, committed individuals between the ages of  15 and 18 to work together across the globe to develop ideas that can help tackle climate change, and to voice their opinions to decision makers.

We support university students and post-university emerging leaders develop and implement projects to tackle climate change by providing skills and leadership training and access to our international networks.

E-idea Competition (c) British Council

Through E-idea, the British Council and LRQA are supporting young eco-entrepreneurs who have ideas for projects that address some of the biggest sustainability challenges for their communities.

We aim to make connections between science and society, increasing interest in science and technology among young people, and stimulating debate about the impacts of science on people's lives.
