The Power of Music: Connecting with Communities （18 April 2012）
We invited Kathryn McDowell, Managing Director of London Symphony Orchestra, as keynote speaker to introduce the LSO’s innovative music education and community programme entitled ‘Discovery’. She also engaged in dialogue with other guest speakers from key cultural organisations which are proactively running activities aimed at revitalising their communities and which connect music with wider audiences in Japan.
Degital Creative Conference Digital Creative Conference （12 – 13 February 2011）
The Digital Creative Conference which was held in Tokyo brought together artists, curators and creative thinkers from Japan and the UK and facilitated a conversation on the theme of 'digital transformation for the cultural sector'.

Symposium "Investing in the Arts" （29 June 2010）
Introducing innovative challenges and new business models for widening access to the new audiences by the UK’s arts sector, the symposium shared and discussed current practices in the UK and Japan as well as future organisational management and skills development in the cultural sector.

UK-Japan Curator exchange programme (9 - 19 May 2010)
With the emphasis on the contemporary visual arts, the British Council organised a programme for Japanese curators to visite around 30 galleries and museums in London, Glasgow, Newcastle and Nottingham and to meet with curators and gallerists at a wide range of public and private arts venues including Tate Britain, Gasworks, White Cube, and Baltic.

Connected

Connected was a showcase of UK interactive performance which we presented in Tokyo, featuring some of the UK’s most innovative artists who are finding new ways to connect with the audience of the 21st century.
