Who is the Caterpillar Club for?
The British Council caterpillar Club is for 4-5 year olds who are essentially non-readers and non-writers attending the last two years of Scuola Materna. We envisage by the time your child finishes the Caterpillar Club, he/she will just be starting to develop his/her reading and writing skills. The Caterpillar Club will be a positive first English learning experience allowing your child to develop a love for English.
How will the Caterpillar Club be organised?
There will be a maximum of 12 students per teacher.
How will the lessons work?
There will be a syllabus based on a carefully chosen book for your child’s level and age. Teachers will also make use of authentic storybooks, drama and craft activities, songs and games and interactive computer programmes and web sites. Lessons will be predominantly communicative, concentrating on speaking and listening skills reflecting how your child learns his/her mother tongue.
