JEREMY DELLER COMES TO THE PALAIS DE TOKYO
From one revolution to another
26 September 2008 - 4 January 2009
British artist Jeremy Deller takes up the reins for an original project at the Palais de Tokyo lasting three months.
Jeremy Deller was born in London and studied history of art at the Courtauld Insitute. In 2004 he won the Turner Prize for the installation, Memory Bucket. At the Palais de Tokyo he will explore areas at the margins of contemporary art and question possible relationships between industrial and cultural revolutions.
With collaborators such as Ed Hall, Alan Kane and Scott King, Deller has devised an exhibition that defies categorisation where the protagonists can escape being defined as artists and even the objects presented are not always approached as works of art. He will also be in discussion with his fellow curators at the Palais's 'Jeudis a la Factory' programme on 2 October.
