Eligibility Criteria and Competition Details

Entrants must have a first degree in science, engineering, mathematics or medicine and be a maximum of 35 years old.

FameLab is looking for people who want to talk about their work, not people who have already shifted into science communication or promotion as a full-time career.

We would like to hear from you if you are:

a postgraduate student studying science, mathematics, engineering or medical subjects at university.
an early to mid-stage career researcher
a lecturer in science, mathematics, engineering, medicine and medical subjects, including specialist science teachers with a science degree
a researcher using existing research or meta-studies
working on applying science, technology, mathematics, medicine, medical sciences such as patenting, statistics, computer technology, industry consultation etc
applying science, mathematics, engineering, medicine, medical sciences in the armed forces, government bodies, industry or business  

Unfortunately we can’t accept you if you are:

a press or PR officer, even for science-related organisations
an artist who works on science-related themes
a performer whose shows are about science or engineering
science museum/centre staff working exclusively or mainly with the public
a journalists or broadcasters (if this is your main job)
a non-specialist school teachers
involved in the social sciences

UNLESS this is a temporary role or placement or a short-term job and you plan to return to practising or researching science or engineering in the near future.  If in doubt, please contact us.
