LONG TERM AWARDS IN THE ARTS AND HERITAGE CONSERVATION
Every year CWIT offers upto 10 long term awards. These are to give practitioners in early or mid career a chance to gain wider experience and exposure, or to study. The balance between Arts and Heritage Conservation varies from year to year depending on demand and performance at interview.
The awards, which are generally from 2-3 months up to a maximum of a year, cover accommodation and living costs in the UK ,fees where they are payable and a contribution to international fares. CWIT does not support 2 year courses.

Applications should be made to your nearest British Council office not earlier than 1 July and not later than 31 October
completed application form including a Statement of Purpose ( not more than 2 pages) stating clearly in detail what you want to do in the UK or which course you plan to follow and how you plan to put this to use on returning to India. Conservation architectureCWIT supports internships for conservators eg at Tate Conservation Department conservation.enquiries@tate.org.uk or programmes of visits. However applicants are responsible for making their own practical and professional arrangements including travel and accommodation in the UK.
Applicants (for long term awards) shortlisted on the basis of their applications will be invited by the British Council to attend an interview in Delhi in March 2013. The panels of Indian experts are chaired by CWIT. Results of the interviews are announced by early April.
Artists Residencies
Gasworks International Residency Programme
The Charles Wallace Inda Trust/ Gasworks residency for 2013 has been re-instated! The residency runs from April-June 2013 and is open to emerging to mid-career artists, under 40 years of age, living and working in India. The deadline for application is usually 28 November. Spike Island Residency Programme. A similar Residency is offered at Spike Island, a large complex of recently refurbished studios in Bristol. Recent Resident Artists there include Chintan Upadhyay, Sukanya Ghosh, Aditi Kulkarni and Zubin Pastakia.Applications should be submitted direct to Marie - Anne McQuay at Spike Island in Bristol. Spike Island will select an artist and make a recommendation to CWIT
Professional Placement in Museology – Curating, Museum Conservation or Archaeology
Nehru Trust for the India Collections & CWIT
The Charles Wallace India Trust and the Nehru Trust for the India Collections joint-fund an annual fellowship for a curator, museum conservator or archaeologist to take up an attachment at the Victoria and Albert Museum or another agreed institution. Royal Court Theatre International Summer School
