Economic Growth and Social Enterprise Experience

In December 2009, we completed the Economic Empowerment of the Poorest (EEP) project, supporting the Government of Bangladesh to achieve the Millennium Development Goal targets on income poverty and hunger in partnership with the Government of Bangladesh. The project was funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID). The aim of the project was to enable over 1 million people to lift themselves out of extreme poverty and achieve sustainable livelihoods by 2015. Our role on the project was to support the pre-financing of funds. In addition we supported technical assistance to develop specific funding schemes to address the governance aspects of climate change amongst the extreme poor and to share and disseminate knowledge learned through the programme.
