IATEFL-Hungary and the British Council are delighted to invite all English teachers around the country to join them for an afternoon of tea and teacher development.
Our aim is to travel around the country and give English teachers a chance to:
take part in a free methodology workshop and discuss issues relevant to their teaching situations;
Mobiles, trifles, knives and other things
Listening and speaking with British Council online materials
In this workshop, Judit Fehér will show listening and speaking activities all based on free online materials from the British Council’s teaching and learning websites. These materials and activities will appeal to teenagers and young adults and engage them through different senses while raising their cultural awareness.
Dyslexic language learners in the English classroom
Learning by understanding
This one-and-a-half-hour training Borbála Kálmos and Gabriella Dóczi-Vámos invite the participants to look at the whole language learning process from the dyslexic language learners’ point of view and thereby understand the different ways dyslexic learners can approach language learning, the methods that are compatible with these approaches, the learning environment that can accommodate them, and the teacher attitude that is capable of fostering such an environment.
Multi-sensory learning in the YL’s ELT classroom
Rhythm, fun and involvement and are key words when it comes to teaching children. In this practical workshop, Lívia Faragó will help you experience several activities that activate your learners at very different levels of their personalities and create opportunities to learn through their senses. Moreover, by reflecting on the tasks, you will be able to ’dig deeper’ and become aware of your values, aims, motivation and priorities – factors that keep influencing your choice of activities and decisions you make in the classroom.
