Alongside the Swanning Around project, the British Council is organising a series of inclusive and creative dance workshops for trainers (i.e. social workers, carers, teachers (special needs) and teaching artists) in February 2010. Led by two specialists from the English National Ballet’s Department of Learning, the workshop series will focus on widening access to body movements and ballet in particular, through inclusive participation, shared practice and the involvement of disabled participants and trainers. The Providence Garden for Rehab is the key partner of this project. The organisation will provide disabled residents to participate throughout the three days of workshops. After the 3-day workshop in Hong Kong, the team will fly to Shanghai and Xian to conduct creative dance workshops for teaching artists and dancers.
Limited places for professional trainers are available. Selection of participants will be based on prior working experience.
