Chemistry in action
This fun two-hour workshop consists of two hands-on components: exploring the physical and chemical properties of carbon dioxide and conducting experiments related to real-life research such as cancer detection and antibiotic resistance. Activities include determining the molar volume of a gas, exploring pH values, amongst other simple but effective experiments that will allow students to make connections between their classroom chemistry and the cutting-edge research happening out there today.
Conducted in English with Cantonese interpretation
Suitable for senior secondary students (S4-6) and teachers in Science
Facilitators: Dr Elizabeth Stevenson, Professor Colin R. Pulham and Dr Steven Henderson ( University of Edinburgh, School of Chemistry)
