PERFORMANCE AND WORKSHOP BY THE LEVANTES DANCE THEATRE

The Levantes Dance Theatre – working primarily with dance theatre – is an award-winning company which fuses artistic disciplines and indulges in vibrant aesthetics.

The Levantes Dance Theatre consists of practitioners Bethanie Harrison and Eleni Edipidi, who combine contemporary dance theatre practices with visual and live art. Their work is current, bold and honest, whereas familiar mechanics of pedestrian routine are regularly woven into their choreography to develop penetrable, peculiar and often humorous landscapes.

THE PERFORMANCE
Fluid and vibrant, Two Peas without a Pod explores the essence of partnership and the dynamics of co-dependency and competitiveness. Audiences are taken on an indulgent trip to discover the make-up and contradictions of human connections, observing the draw of coupling, how society’s structures stem from this principle and how varying and fascinating these partnerships can be.

THE WORKSHOP
When working in education the Levantes Dance Theatre's aim is to highlight the creative tool (our body) we each possess: its individual character and ability to communicate. They work collectively with pupils either devising a piece, or simply workshopping ideas. They feel it is important that their creativity is utilised so avoid prescribing style and teaching excessive repertoire.
