After the success of last year’s Short Story Competition, this year our literature competition offers translators the opportunity to demonstrate their talent.

Whether you're an experienced translator, have no experience at all – or are somewhere in between – we invite you to translate Michel Faber's Bye-Bye Natalia.

The winner will be selected by a three-member judging panel. The prize is publication of the winner's translation in the Greek edition of Granta magazine, plus working with the Greek edition of Granta on translations to be published in each of the four forthcoming issues.

AND THE WINNER IS ...
Congratulations to everyone who entered our competition, organised in co-operation with the Greek edition of Granta magazine.

The judging panel – Maria Athanasiadou (translator), Aris Berlis (translator, literary critic) and Thalia Bistika (translator, teacher of translation studies) – has now completed the difficult task of selecting the winning translation and we are pleased to announce Sofia Avtzoglou as the winner (participant number 29).

The selection criteria were the faithfulness of the translation to the original, its accuracy and absence of errors, as well as the correct usage of the Greek language and the literary quality of the translation.
