As part of our New Work New Audiences programme, which focuses on emerging creative artists and an audience eager to explore and experience fresh and innovative artistic proposals, we invite you to Bear, a solo performance by artist Anushiye Yarnell, which we are presenting in collaboration with this year’s MIRfestival.
With Bear Anushiye leads us to a world of memories and premonitions, to a world without guilt, in the condition of absolute love a child or an animal can experience. Like 'a stray humanimal' she wears herself inside out to reveal this magic relationship with the animal, this 'elsewhere' people seem to forget
Anushiye Yarnell studied fine arts and dance. Her exploration of movement developed through a continuing relationship to butoh dance. Anushiye mainly focuses on creating solo works, which evolve through different phases and environments, the work being shaped, developed and transformed though site-specific projects.
Bear is being introduced to Athens as part of the MIRfestival taking place between 10 and 18 September. The festival programme features a series of experimental works within the space where performing arts meet live media, new technologies and the image, and presents a line-up of artists who want to explore new creative territories and present unique and adventurous new projects.
