Going Global 3

The current economic crisis gripping the world is having a devastating impact on the finance, retail and construction sectors. Thousands of jobs have already been lost and as stock markets continue to tumble the full effects of the financial turmoil are yet to be felt. Going Global 3, the UK’s largest international education conference, will deal with the consequences for the international education sector in a special session chaired by broadcaster Jonathan Dimbleby.

Bringing together business leaders and academics the debate will tackle the burning issues for education thrown up by the crisis. How will China, India and East Asia be affected by events in the West? Will the weakening of the dollar and pound, coupled with growing unemployment, actually result in an increased demand for international education? Is a downturn in global education investments likely? Can the Middle East, Pakistan, China and India continue to invest millions in higher education?
