School Year 2011-2012
We take children from Grande Section de Maternelle (who are 5 years old) up to the last year of school (Terminale). After leaving school students should register in the adult section.
Classes can have between 10 to 18 pupils depending on their age and level, and also depending on the size of the available classrooms.
The price is for a full academic year (30 classes a year) and depends on the number of class hours:
60 hours of class: 960€This fee can be paid in a single payment or in two instalments
If you choose two instalments, you are requested to pay as follows:
60 hours of classes: 680€ on registering and 280€ in FebruaryIf your child is a beginner (no English at all) and in primary
If your child will still be in primary school (Grande section maternelle up to CM2) in September 2011 and has no knowledge of English, you do not need a placement test. You can enrol your child by coming directly to the British Council on Saturday 25 June 9h00 - 12h00, then on Tuesday to Friday from 9h30 to 17h00 between 28 June and 15 July 2011, depending on the availability of places.
If your child is not a beginner:
All pupils who have had some English lessons or who have learnt the basics of English (plus all pupils who will be in secondary school in September 2011) have to take a test. You can book a placement test direclty on our Young Learners pages.
After the test the teacher will give your child a level, and advice on choosing a class. You can then register your child (please remember to bring a cheque for the fee payment). Given that places are limited, we strongly advise you to register your child immediately after the placement test.
Please note that registrations take place in order of arrival following the level test depending on places available. Due to the success of our courses and the growing number of re-enrolments, we are not able to guarantee a place in a course.
If your child is attending our weekly classes during the 2010/2011 academic year:
All our registered pupils will receive by post our programme of classes for the school year 2011/2012, their recommended level and a re-registration form. Please note that re-registration of pupils for the following year in not automatic. If parents wish to re-register their child, they must return the completed registration form and the recommended document with a cheque corresponding to the cost of the chosen course, either by post or directly at the reception desk on the 4th floor.
Please note that a placement test does not guarantee that a place will be available in a course.
No, all payments must be made on the 4th floor during the Teaching Centre opening hours.
