We are developing a new Equality Scheme that will run from 2011-2014. We are extending our Scheme to cover the 7 areas of diversity that we focus on in the British Council. Our proposals are attached, including a draft action plan - we will be consulting on these over the coming months.
Developing our Equality Scheme 2011 - 2014 also available in Word.
Integrated Equality Scheme 2006-2009
As a UK public body we are legally required to promote equality in these areas, but because we are an international organisation our Integrated Equality Scheme applies worldwide, not just in the UK.
The easiest way to understand the Integrated Equality Scheme is to read the Executive Summary, along with the equality objectives outlined for disability, gender and race. We will report each year on the progress we have made against our Integrated Equality Scheme.
