Business and social responsibilty initiative

India, 2002 - 2004

In April 2002, a national workshop on Corporate Citizenship in India was organised jointly by TATA Energy research Institute, UN Development programme, UN volunteers, New Academy of Business UK and British Council, India.

This new initiative will implement some of the key recommendations of that workshop.

The aim is to influence future business leaders on issues of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the impact of business in building a society based on equality and justice.

In addition, we wish to develop links between management educators, MBA course directors and the corporate sector. We expect to achieve this by building CSR into Master of Business Administration programmes, through case studies, training, networking groups, research and on line materials. This includes both curriculum development and practitioner experience.

We are developing this initiative in partnership with New Academy of Business UK. The project has real potential to be expanded to other countries.
