On 31 October and 1 November, Climate Champion 2011 Paula Ruggeri organised a training workshop at the premises of the construction workers union UOCRA . Paula was one of the winners of the grants given by the British Council to successful climate champion projects. Paula has a degree in health and security and works for the construction union, UOCRA, as coordinator of the renewable energy training programmes.
Her project consists of organising a series of training workshops for construction workers. The workshops are divided into two parts: the first one covers basic knowledge on project management, delivered by our partner organisation Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina, and the second one is a practical session on how to build a solar suitcase. This solar suitcase would have all the necessary elements to provide electricity in places where this is not available, such as rural schools. The construction workers would set up six solar suitcases, which will be donated to rural schools across the country.
This project also has the support of the National Secretariat for the Environment
