Announcement
If you are the owner of a small business, this is your chance to get recognised. Shell Egypt is giving awards for excellence in its annual Intilaaqah Award. Even if you are not an Intilaaqah trainee, you can still apply.
Partnering with Shell Company reflects the British Council endeavours to contribute towards improvements in Youth Unemployment in Egypt. Through its many offices, links with partner NGO's and media organisations in Egypt, the UK and wider region, the British Council is well equipped to draw on expertise, learning and best practice in support of this partnership.
The 'Intilaaqah - Egypt' Programme is following the general principles and outlines of the 'LiveWIRE' Programme designed by Shell Foundation for the promotion of young entrepreneurs, with the necessary adaptations to the local conditions. This helps them to think about what is needed to start their own businesses and to acquire the skills and resources to take their ideas from dreams to reality. It encourages young people to help themselves. It offers workshops to stimulate and test 'bright ideas', provides advice on business planning, gives information on the challenges of different types of business and, in some circumstances, might help to give young entrepreneurs access to finance and other resources to start their businesses. Business mentoring is also a feature of the programme.
PROGRAMMEME OBJECTIVES
To increase awareness of young Egyptians aged between 18-32 of the value of small and medium enterprises as viable career options and encourages them to start their own businesses. The programme aims to support youth development and encourages young people to set up their own business and work for themselves
