Young Learners English Tests (YLE) are Cambridge exams suitable for children aged 7–12 who are studying English as a foreign language at primary or language schools. The exams cover all four language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. They are designed to encourage positive learning experiences (there are no pass or fail grades). They provide every pupil with a reward for his or her effort and a positive impulse for further study. Most children take them in their own school.
