CONNECTING CLASSROOMS

What are the benefits?

What is involved?

Collaborative curriculum projects, planned and delivered jointly by all schools within the partnership, are relevant to the curriculum of each partner country and focus on areas of common interest. They enable learners to communicate and work with their international peers, building an understanding of different cultures and societies, and developing skills as global citizens.

Connecting Classrooms provides professional development opportunities for school leaders and teachers. They receive training and support materials to prepare them for working in an international context and to help develop their partnerships to achieve the best possible outcomes for them and their learners.

Participating schools are eligible for the International School Award. This scheme, managed by the British Council, recognises a school’s commitment to forming international partnerships and developing global citizens, and offers additional awards to school leaders, teachers and students.
