Climate change is now recognised as the biggest challenge facing the world and its impact will affect us all. Mankind's role in contributing to climate change is now indisputable.
The British Council believes that young people are key to raising awareness and finding sustainable solutions to tackle climate change.
This is why Climate Generation has been developed, to support young climate activists (Climate Champions), passionate and committed, who lead by example and influence their communities.
What is Climate Generation?
A project aimed at young positive activists who are already involved in implementing projects that address issues which raise awareness of, adapt to, and mitigate climate change.
Through Climate Generation, taking place in 60 countries worldwide, we aim to generate awareness about climate change, reduce its impact and modify future generations’ habits.
If you want to know more about Climate Generation in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as its Champions and projects, join our Facebook page “Climate Generation LAC”.
The competition
The open call took place during June and July 2010 to identify 108 young leaders with proactive interest in climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean.
We thank all the applicants for their effort and interest shown. We also would like to encourage all the participants to continue with their projects and their contribution to tackle climate change.
If you want to become part of Climate Generation keep an eye for next year’s call.
